Visualping alternative for online stores

Visualping watches pages for changes. Over the Fence is built for stores that sell online: prices, promos, rankings, AI cites and Instagram, one weekly email. From $49 a month. If you searched for a Visualping alternative, you probably want fewer noisy change alerts and more signal about what rival stores did this week. Visualping is a website change monitor: screenshots, pings and alerts on any URL. We read rival stores every week, structure price and stock findings, track Google rankings and AI Overview citations, and optionally Instagram, then send three findings on Monday.

Why shops pick us

Why shops pick Over the Fence over Visualping

  • Structured prices and stockEvery week we read 10, 25 or 50 rival products a site, by plan, with sell-out and back-in-stock. Visualping detects visual, text and element changes on the URLs you set up, including with Actions and selectors you configure. Its pages don’t describe a ready-made price list or stock status for a rival shop.1,2
  • Rankings and AI citations beside the storeEvery week we track 100, 200 or 300 of your searches in Google, by plan, and which sites Google’s AI Overviews cite for them. Visualping’s pages don’t describe Google rank tracking or AI Overview citation tracking.1,2
  • One weekly read, not a firehoseOne email a week with three findings at most, each with its reason and what to do first. Visualping checks as often as every 2 minutes on paid plans, and sends alerts when it finds a change.1
  • What to do firstOne email a week with three findings at most, each with its reason, its source and what to do first. Nobody has to build a report.

Side by side

The job of watching rivals

What did my rivals change, and what should I do about it? Here is what each of us does for that question.

Over the Fence and Visualping, side by side, for each part of watching rivals
The jobOver the FenceVisualping
Every page of each rivalEvery week we check each rival’s site for pages that are new, gone or changed, and every four weeks we read the whole site, up to 500, 2,000 or 8,000 pages a website by plan.Visual, text and element change detection on any URL you add, with visual, text and code change types in its alerts.1,2
Homepage bannersEvery week we read the top of each rival’s homepage and offers pages as a browser shows them. A vision model reads the banners, and we keep each banner as proof.Before-and-after screenshot comparison with highlights of added and removed text when a page changes.2
Offers and their termsEach offer with its percent off, code, who gets it and when it ends. A new sale is followed to the page it leads to, where we count its products and how deep the cuts go.Not on the pages we read.
Prices of named products10, 25 or 50 rival products a site, by plan, read every week. You also hear when one sells out or comes back. You pick the page and, with element monitoring, the part to watch. A price change shows up as a visual or text diff, not as a named product with stock status.1,2
What a shopper paysA rival’s price after its running offer, beside your closest product. Not on the pages we read.
An alert when a rival starts a saleAn email the day we find a rival’s sale for everyone at least as deep as your prices rule, which starts at 10%.An alert with a highlighted screenshot when a change is detected, with AI summaries and an important-or-not flag on every change.1,2
Rivals’ Instagram postsOnce a week we read each rival’s Instagram business account. A vision model reads every new post, and the posts that did best against their account’s usual come first. Not on the pages we read.
What AI answers sayEvery week on every plan: which sites Google’s AI Overviews cite for your searches, with your share beside each rival’s. Once a month, whether those answers get your facts right.Visualping AI change summaries and an important-or-not flag on each alert. Not tracking which sites Google’s AI Overviews cite for your searches.1,2
The week in one placeOne email a week with three findings at most, each with its reason and what to do first.Alerts as changes happen, on the schedule you set, from every 2 minutes up to every month.1

“Not on the pages we read” means the Visualping pages under Sources don’t describe it. Visualping may still offer it somewhere we didn’t read.

Fair is fair

When Visualping is the better pick

  • Near-real-time alerts on any URLVisualping checks pages as often as every 2 minutes on paid plans and emails when something changes. We read rival shops once a week by design.1
  • Screenshot diffs as the artifactEach alert can include a before-and-after screenshot with added and removed text highlighted. We keep banners and offers as structured findings, not a gallery of page shots.2
  • Hundreds of arbitrary URLsBusiness plans cover hundreds of pages with bulk import and team workspaces. We focus on a handful of rival stores and what shoppers care about on them.1

Together

How teams use both

  1. Keep Visualping for a legal page, status page or other URL that needs near-real-time alerts and screenshot diffs.
  2. Many teams keep Visualping for a few critical URLs and use Over the Fence for rival stores.
  3. Add Over the Fence for the rivals you name. It reads their offers, banners and prices for you and puts each beside yours.
  4. Agencies add each client as a site, with that client’s rivals. Each of the week’s three findings links to its source, so it can go straight to the client.
  5. Visualping has an MCP server too, so one AI assistant can ask both about the same rival. Ours comes with every plan, with 2,500, 10,000 or 100,000 requests a month.
