Terms

Last updated October 2, 2026

The agreement

These terms are the agreement between DENVOD SOLUTIONS, the Hong Kong company that runs Over the Fence at overthefence.io (“we,” “us”), and the business that opens an account or pays for a plan (“you”).

By opening an account or paying, you accept them. If you accept them for a company, you confirm you may bind it. The Refunds and Privacy pages are part of these terms.

For businesses

Over the Fence is sold to businesses: companies, agencies and people in business for themselves. By subscribing, you confirm you are buying it for a business, not as a consumer.

What the service does

Each week we read the public pages of your website and of the competitors you name, and where you stand in Google search and in AI answers, in the countries you choose. We show what changed, what it means and what to do about it: on the dashboard, in a weekly email, in alerts and in a monthly report.

Ask answers questions about your figures, and the public API and the MCP server let your own tools read them, on the plans that include them. What each plan includes is shown when you choose it.

Your account

  • You sign in with a link we email you. Keep that inbox safe: whoever can open it can open your account.
  • You can invite people to your account. You are responsible for what they do in it.
  • Give us true details. Invoices use the company details you enter on the Account page.

Plans, prices and billing

  • Plans and add-ons (an extra site, or an extra country for a site) cost what is shown when you subscribe or add them, in US dollars. An account that started in Hong Kong dollars keeps paying in them. Stripe takes the payment each month, in advance, and the plan renews each month until you cancel it.
  • A first plan starts with 3 days free. We take your card when you start and charge it when the 3 days end, unless you cancel before then. An account that has had a plan before pays from the first day, and so does a card that has had free days before. During the free days we read up to 500 pages of each website. Your plan’s full page count starts with your first payment.
  • Moving to a bigger plan takes effect at once, and we charge the difference for the rest of the month. If that payment fails, the plan doesn’t change.
  • Moving to a smaller plan takes effect at once, and the unused difference comes off your next bill.
  • An extra site or an extra country added during a month is charged for the rest of that month. Removing one takes effect at once, with no credit for the rest of the month.
  • Prices don’t include taxes that may apply where you are. If any apply, you pay them.
  • If a payment fails, your plan stays open while you update the card and Stripe tries again. If the payment can’t be collected, the plan ends.
  • We email you at least 30 days before a price change reaches your plan. It applies from your first bill after that, and you can cancel before it does.

Canceling

You can cancel at any time on the Subscription page. Your plan runs to the end of the month you have paid for, then stops, and nothing more is charged. Canceled during the free days, it ends when they do, and nothing is charged at all. Refunds are on the Refunds page.

When a plan ends, we stop reading your sites and the dashboard closes. We keep what we read, so it’s all there if you subscribe again. To have your account and its data deleted, write to privacy@overthefence.io.

Using it fairly

Use Over the Fence to research your market and your competitors from public information. Don’t use it:

  • to break the law or anyone’s rights, including copyright;
  • to publish, resell or pass off the pages we read as your own;
  • to name a site in order to harass or harm its owner;
  • to get around a site’s robots.txt, logins or blocks. We follow robots.txt and stop when a site turns our reader away, and you must not ask us to do otherwise;
  • to load the service or the API beyond its limits, probe it for weaknesses, or copy it;
  • to share your account with another business, or resell access to it.

Agencies may run Over the Fence for their clients and share its reports with them.

Your data, and what we read

  • What you give us stays yours: your details, the sites you name, your notes and your questions. You let us use it to run the service for you.
  • The pages we read belong to their owners. We show them to you for your own research, and how you use them is up to you, within the law.
  • One reading of a website serves every account that watches it. We also use counts of how the service is used, with no one identified, to improve it.
  • The Privacy page says how we handle personal data.

AI and other people’s data

Parts of Over the Fence use AI models, such as Ask’s answers and the sorting of pages by kind, and data from others, such as search results, rankings, AI answers, reviews and listings. Any of it can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check anything important before you act on it. We don’t promise any ranking, traffic or sales.

Availability and changes

We aim to read every site each week and keep the dashboard up, but we can’t promise that the service will always be available, or that every site can be read: sites go down, block readers or change, and our suppliers can fail. When a read fails, we try again and tell you.

We improve and change features. If we take away something your plan pays for, we tell you first, and you can cancel.

The public API and MCP server

API keys are secret: keep them that way. Each plan has limits on requests, shown on the API page. We may revoke a key that is used against these terms.

What’s ours

The service, its software, its design and the way it presents findings are ours. While you subscribe, you may use it and its reports for your business and, if you’re an agency, for your clients. Reports you download or receive by email are yours to keep.

Suspending and closing accounts

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, isn’t paid, or puts the service or other people at risk. Unless the law or security stops us, we tell you why first and give you the chance to fix it. You can close your account at any time: cancel the plan and write to privacy@overthefence.io.

Liability

  • We provide Over the Fence as it is and as available. Beyond what these terms say, we give no warranties, as far as the law allows.
  • We aren’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profit, revenue, business, data or goodwill.
  • Our total liability to you, for all claims together, is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
  • Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited, such as for fraud.
  • You are responsible for claims against us that arise from your use of the service in breach of these terms or the law.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the date at the top changes. If a change matters to you, we email you at least 30 days before it applies. Using Over the Fence after that means you accept it. If you don’t, cancel before it applies.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Hong Kong. Tell us first about any problem, at hello@overthefence.io, and we will try to settle it. If we can’t, the courts of Hong Kong decide.

The rest

These terms, with the Refunds and Privacy pages, are the whole agreement between us. If part of them can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term right away doesn’t waive it. You may not transfer your account without our agreement. We may transfer these terms to a business that takes over Over the Fence, and we will tell you. We send notices by email, to your account’s address.
